Greetings and Namaste, I'm Kailash Joshi and I welcome you to this wellness program of HSCI, in particular job satisfaction and how to improve it.

Now please understand, I'm not a psychologist or a therapist. I'm a coach and a guide, and my experiences come from lifelong working in different jobs, positions, in management, in professional positions, in non-profits, and also engaged in guiding people, mentoring, and supporting them in their growth and organizations. So I have also studied job satisfaction as a very important subject and done some good research work on that here also.

We will begin our session with you by you taking a short survey that may point us to the general direction of your dissatisfaction. And then we will go ahead and take an inventory of the various aspects of your job related matters, and then have a good discussion back and forth about what you think and what I might bring to the table.

We will agree on some things. We may disagree on a few. And we may also agree to do some additional work. Whatever, we will conclude the session by me making some suggestions and recommendations to you to work on and see if you can see some improvements.

And also, please understand that that work is yours to do and to achieve. I will not be able to guarantee any success or positive outcome on this.

With that, I say, let's go on board and get the discussion started. Thank you.

Are you finding less satisfaction or joy in your work than you once did? You are not alone. Surveys suggest that up to 70% of the working population experiences various degrees of dissatisfaction with their work.

Dr. Kailash Joshi, PhD, DSc, President and faculty member of the Hindu Spiritual Care Institute (HSCI), brings a unique combination of engineering education and extensive experience working with individuals, teams, and organizations.

A retired IBM executive, Dr. Joshi has wide experience in management, mentoring, and guiding people through change. He has also founded or co-founded several nonprofit institutions serving human services and education.

Among his many interests and areas of expertise, job satisfaction is especially important to him. He believes that thoughtful, interactive guidance from an experienced mentor can help people understand the sources of dissatisfaction and identify meaningful possibilities for change.

This is not a session about finding another job or the impact of AI. It is a private, one-on-one dialogue focused entirely on you: your current work experience, what may be causing dissatisfaction, and what changes might bring greater satisfaction and fulfillment.

Together, you and Dr. Joshi will explore your situation and arrive at practical possibilities for positive change, for you to consider, in your own way and at your own pace.

Dr. Joshi is a coach and a guide rather than a psychologist or a therapist. A session runs in four movements:

  1. A short survey, which may point to the general direction of your dissatisfaction.
  2. An inventory of the various aspects of your job-related matters.
  3. A discussion back and forth about what you think, and what he might bring to the table. You will agree on some things, and may disagree on a few.
  4. Suggestions and recommendations to work on, to see whether you find some improvement.

He is direct about the limits of this: that work is yours to do and to achieve, and no success or positive outcome can be guaranteed.
